Jazz Cartier, Another Hot Canadian Commodity, Sells Out the Phoenix

Fresh off the brand new release of his ‘Hotel Paranoia’ mixtape, Jazz Cartier proves why Toronto’s hip hop scene is the utmost lit right now. After having shared stages with the likes of Nicki Minaj and ILoveMakonnen, the Toronto-born rapper sold out his own stage at Phoenix Theatre in his hometown. Jazz had a tightly packed crowd amped to see the “prince of the city” turn up the energy– and so he did, with tracks like 100 Roses and Illuminati Love Song. The usually wild performer kept it relatively tame for this hometown show (until the end, that is), while maintaining a healthy mix of turn up and mellow out. His set was mostly comprised of his year-old ‘Marauding in Paradise’ album hits from ‘Switch’ to ‘Dead or Alive’, littered with some fresh, new releases. Jazz Cartier has been on the hip hop radar for a minute now and is seemingly picking up steam by the minute– this is an artist you do not want to sleep on.
