Dillan Ponders, a Torontobased rapper, was booked early in the night so his hard trapinfluenced beats were a tough sell on the crowd. However, he came out strong and performed cuts from his RETOX remix mixtape and upcoming mixtape Thank You. After losing and then finding his beer multiple times, he closed off his set and thanked everyone for coming out. Only thing missing from his set was a thick cloud of smoke.

Allie (stylized a l l i e ) was an early surprise for everyone. The Torontobased R&B artist presented beautiful and ethereal vocal melodies reminiscent of Erykah, even down to the hair. She had an absolutely fantastic sound, definitely one to watch coming out of Toronto.

Kate Tempest

Kate Tempest was the biggest surprise of the night, a rapper/spoken word poet from the UK. Her intense fastpaced beats combined with her immaculate flow stunned everyone in the room. Even through the barrage of lyricism, she was able to work in appropriate vocal melodies. The crowd absolutely loved her.

Bishop Nehru, an 18year old rapper from New York, was an obvious crowd favourite of the night. He performed cuts from his own mixtapes and his collaborative project with the illusive MF DOOM. After treating the crowd to a couple of unreleased tracks, he performed a nasty freestyle. This MC is definitely one to watch.

Tink, a 20year old singer/rapper from Illinois, was the most anticipated headliner of the night. She came out with straight bars and had everyone quickly on their feet. She transitioned smoothly into her other styles of music featuring her strong vocal melodies. Her set was fairly late into the night but she didn’t let that keep the room still.
