As the only hiphop act in the lineup this year, Folk Malone (lol) had a big void to fill for the rap fans heading to the first night of Ottawa’s CityFolk Festival. A mostly young crowd gathered in thousands to see the 22-year-old, Texas-born rapper take the stage in the capital for the first time.  From making his debut in the scene with “White Iverson”  to breaking Apple Music’s weekly streaming record with “Rockstar”, Post Malone has become a quick-rising hiphop/R&B artist (and hilarious internet meme). Now on a major headlining tour for his mixtape Stoney, the young rapper is using his platform to remind fans to have fun and milk every moment for what it’s worth while celebrating the lives of late friends and idols.
