Juvi Da Gemini Sends a Message With “East” Visual

March 16th, 2016

On the east side, we like it grimy; This brand new visual from Juvi Da Gemini is the embodiment of just that. It’s an anthem we’ve been hearing for the past few months, echoing a harsh warning shot to anyone with ill will toward JDG. The official video for “East” opens up a door to the Toronto rapper’s past, serving as a walk down memory lane, set in Juvi’s old middle school, John Buchan Senior Public School in Scarborough. Rocking his own JDG gear (which you can purchase from him for your own), running around his old stomping grounds with his people, this track and visual is a piece of Juvi and a look into his life. It’s apparent that the Eastside-of-Toronto rapper prefers to look down at his targets while spitting his immaculate flow, like a hip hop sniper, from the tops of basketball nets and busses. We won’t ask how you got up there. Anytime the backdrop isn’t set in the school’s gym or a Scarborough neighbourhood, Juvi is cast in green light and dark shadows portraying an even grittier emotion to the video. For anyone who doubted, just know we heard you talking, and it’s still an eastside ting. Check the video below.
