Kranium Talks Jamaican Food, the Key to Happiness, XXL Freshman List + More

June 22nd, 2017

His first time in Ottawa was as a supporting act on Tory Lanez ‘I Told You’ tour and now he’s embarking on his own. Two stops before the last city on a 19-date North American run, Kranium made his way to Ottawa, Canada for a show at PPL Nightclub. We snagged the dancehall artist for a sit-down where we talked Jamaican food, the key to happiness, XXL’s Freshman list, and more. Check out the full interview below:

Kranium was born with Jamaican roots in Montego Bay before making his way to Florida and then eventually setting his feet down in Queens, NY. Many fans now know him as the artist behind one of the hottest internationally-known dancehall tracks ‘Nobody Has to Know’. Present-day Kranium has since recorded tracks with hitmakers like Tory Lanez and Ty Dolla $ign, released music videos with millions of Youtube views, and has an EP dropping soon called ‘Sparks’ with his brand-new singles We Can’ and Can’t Believe’. Kranium, “the kid from Jamaica”, has been on a steady incline to the top with no sign of slowing down. Check out his debut project ‘Rumors’ right here.

Shortly following our talk with Kranium was the much-anticipated event at PPL Nightclub where gorgeous women flocked and bottles were popped. It was a intimate stage attached to his own VIP booth which gave us less “concert” vibes and more “get turnt with the talent” vibes. Which is exactly what happened. The stage-barrier was not nearly enough to keep women off the stage and off Kranium– much of what ensued would probably get flagged by Youtube but if you were there, you know. After a feel-good set, Kranium hopped off stage to take pictures with just about everyone who wanted one (even though he’s been known to not do meet and greets). The rest of the night was nothing short of a party with energy that was off the charts. Check out some photos below.
